SINGAPORE: From Tuesday, October 17, to Sunday, Singapore’s Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong may pay a visit to the two Gulf state and the United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman.
Mr. Lee will attend the ASEAN-Gulf Cooperation Council ( GCC ) Summit on Friday while he is in Riyadh. According to a declaration from the Prime Minister’s Office, there will be discussions between leaders of the South Asian union and the gulf about enhancing ties and expanding cooperation in sectors like the green and electric economies.
Additionally, Mr. Lee may meet with various Royal leaders to learn more about the nation’s Vision 2030 initiative to diversify its business away from oil. He may interact with Singaporeans who live and work in Saudi Arabia and travel to Madinah and Al Ula to see historical and cultural sites.
The government’s eldest brother, Sheikh Khaled Bin Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Mr. Lee may meet in the UAE from Saturday to Sunday, according to the PMO.
The UAE’s ideas for the energy transition will then be briefed by the Prime Minister of Singapore at the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company.
Mr. Lee may also visit Dubai City to meet Singaporeans and Arab leaders.
