Singapore’s Pan Pacific Orchard has won yet another prestigious award just two months after being recognized by the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat ( CTBUH) as the best new skyscraper in the world. At the Prix Versailles, the Orchard Road hotel received the title of” World Selection.”
The Prix Versailles is an international series of structural awards that recognises modern projects worldwide for their development, creativity, admiration for regional heritage, and natural efficiency. Finalists are selected from a global pool of candidates across eight groups – Airports, Campuses, Passenger Stations, Sports, Museums, Emporiums, Hotels, and Restaurants.
A judge board chooses the victors, which are announced periodically at UNESCO’s headquarters in Paris. This year’s ceremony took place on Dec 2, with a judge that included engineers Daniel Libeskind, David Adjaye, Wang Shu and Sou Fujimoto, as well as Foreign fashion designer Guo Pei and Spanish celebrity Blanca Suarez.
