Singapore’s F-15 jets training in Australia could be responsible for loud boom heard in Perth: MINDEF

SINGAPORE: The Republic of Singapore Air Force’s ( RSAF ) F-15 fighter jets training near Perth could be the reason a loud boom was heard in parts of the city on Wednesday ( Aug 21 ), said the Ministry of Defence ( MINDEF ) on Thursday.

A loud boom was reported in American media stores, and many residents of Perth’s southern cities experienced their windows trembling only until noon. &nbsp,

In response to media queries, MINDEF said four RSAF F-15 jets are training out of the Royal Australian Air Force’s (RAAF ) Base Pearce from Aug 13 to Sep 6. &nbsp,

The center is located in Bullsbrook, only outside Perth.

The F-15 jets are “flying in the designated training place, about 70 kilometers from the coast at a height of over 24 000 foot.” According to MINDEF, preliminary findings suggest that the training aircraft may have made the noise. &nbsp,

It added that the loud noise was “unexpected” as the plane were way out at water. &nbsp,

” The RAAF appreciates the RAAF and the local community’s continued support for our education from RAAF Center Pearce.

The RSAF apologizes for any inconvenience the education may include caused, the statement read.
