Singapore’s economy grew 2.7% in first quarter of 2024: Advance estimates

SINGAPORE: Singapore’s economy grew 2.7&nbsp, per cent year- on- year in the first quarter of 2024, according to advance estimates from the Ministry of Trade and Industry ( MTI ) on Friday ( Apr 12 ).

This was faster&nbsp, than the 2.2 per share rise recorded in the last quarter of 2023.

On a third- on- third intermittently adjusted basis, Singapore’s market expanded by 0.1 per share, extending the 1.2 per cent rise in the third fourth of 2023.

Advance gross domestic product quotes are generally based on data collected during the first two weeks of the third, in this case, in January and February.

They are intended to serve as a first signal of quarter-overquarter GDP growth and are subject to correction when more comprehensive data is available, according to MTI.
