
WHAT HAPPENED
Ms. Fang’s body was discovered close to a parking lot for vehicles in the city of Abanilla while she was traveling alone in Spain.  ,
According to a preliminary examination record, her death was brought on by knifeshots and head trauma.
Ong was staying at the hotel where closed-circuit television cameras caught him leaving on April 9 at about 5.45 p.m. wearing a sweater and dark pants.  ,
According to the personal prosecutors, Ong drove Ms. Fang to a parking lot close to a restaurant in Abanilla on April 9 at about 11 p.m., before the car left at 11 p.m.  ,
According to La Verdad, Ms. Fang was no longer a passenger when the carpark closed, according to the prosecution.
Ong reconnected with the lodge on April 10th, around 2 a.m., wearing jeans and a blue shirt.
According to local magazine Levante El Mercantil Valenciano, Spanish authorities have established that Ong and Ms Fang’s cell phones were both present in Abanilla the day of her passing.
According to the judge in charge of the case, based on data provided by cellular phone users in Abanilla, it is “without a fear” that both Singaporeans were in the same place and at the same time on the day the crime was committed.
About six months prior to Ong’s passing, he was made a beneficiary of her Central Provident Fund ( CPF), a required social security savings plan, and he and Ms. Fang had known each other for more than ten years.  ,
Around the time Ms Fang nominated Ong as her beneficiary, almost S$ 200, 000 ( US$ 148, 000 ) was deposited into her CPF account.  ,
Mr Manuel Martinez, the lawyer representing Ms Fang’s family, said previously that the 39-year-old’s CPF account has more than €430, 000 ( US$ 462, 000 ).
