Singapore to send 22 ambulances to Ukraine amid ‘humanitarian crisis’

SINGAPORE: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs ( MFA ) announced on Tuesday( Sept. 7 ) that Singapore will send 22 ambulances as part of a humanitarian assistance package to Ukraine.

The package was created to support global efforts given the” charitable problems and needs” in Ukraine in response to a request, the ministry added.

A Russian war that began in February 2022 has left thousands of people dead and destroyed places in Ukraine as part of a battle. It is referred to as a” special military activity” by the Kremlin.

In June 2022, Singapore next sent assistance to Ukraine. Nine ambulances, two fire engines, a variety of firefighting protective equipment, recovery tools, mine detector equipment, and health supplies were also included in the package at the time.

The Singapore Red Cross also pledged its second tranche of assistance to help Ukrainian refugees in April of last year, bringing its complete distribution to S$ 3.66 million.

Health and first aid materials, medical supplies and medication for rare diseases, as well as health products, were included in that round.
