Studies found that the people, who held Work Permits, S Passes, or Social Visit Passes, had approached guests of the same nationality to help them bring golden and mobile devices back to their home countries.

” These products were intended to be handed over to their peers in their household states, in exchange for a cash reward”, the authorities said.

” Following the conclusion of the studies, eight people had their labor passes revoked by MOM and one had his Short-Term Visit Pass cancelled by ICA”.

All of them may be deported and barred from re-entering Singapore.

” The Singapore government takes a serious view of illegal actions and will not hesitate to take firm action against people who flout our rules”, said the government.

Those found touting at the airports under the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore Act may be issued a Prohibition Order and can be arrested for unlawful trespass if the purchase is flouted.

Foreign nationals found engaging in such activities may also have their immigration or career standing revoked and been barred from re-entering Singapore.

The authorities added that foreigners on job passes are only allowed to work “in the job, and for the company, while approved for their labor go”. &nbsp,

” They are not allowed to operate or participate in any other business. Foreign tourists on Short-Term Visit Passes are prohibited from engaging in any form of employment ( paid or unpaid ), business, career, or occupation in Singapore during their stay in Singapore”.

The officials also reminded vacationers to prevent carrying goods on behalf of outsiders as it may expose them to safety risks, or arrest and prosecution for participation in illegal activities.
