Singapore to commence aid airdrops into Gaza; reiterates call for immediate humanitarian ceasefire

SINGAPORE: &nbsp, Singapore ‘s&nbsp, third tranche of humanitarian assistance– containing meal packs and critical supplies- for Gaza has arrived in Jordan, &nbsp, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs ( MFA ) and the Ministry of Defence ( MINDEF ) on Sunday ( Mar 17 ). &nbsp,

The Republic of Singapore Air Force ( RSAF ) will soon commence airdrop operations out of Jordan, together with the Royal Jordanian Air Force, to deliver aid to the&nbsp, hunger- stricken enclave.

Both departments claimed that the charitable package, which includes health supplies and equipment, was developed by the Singaporean government after extensive consultation with Jordan and “based on the demands on the ground in Gaza.” &nbsp,

Singapore calls for an urgent humanitarian stalemate and urges all parties to allow the fast, secure, and unrestricted delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza’s damaged civilians, according to MFA and MINDEF. &nbsp,

Both ministries added that Singapore will continue to collaborate carefully with its Middle Eastern partners and regional charitable organizations to provide additional support and assistance to the affected communities.

The battle began on Oct 7 when Hamas sent soldiers into Israel, killing 1, 200 people, mostly citizens, and seizing 253 victims, according to Israeli counts.

Israel’s ground and air battle has killed more than 31, 500 folks, according to the health department in Hamas- run Gaza. Israel says it has killed at least 13, 000 Hamas people in the Gaza battle. &nbsp,

A RSAF C-130 transport aircraft, according to MFA’s announcement last Friday, will help Jordanian Armed Forces-supported philanthropic airdrop operations carried out outside of Jordan.

The Singapore Armed Forces ‘ ( SAF ) Changi Regional Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief Coordination Center ( RHCC), MINDEF, MINDEF, MINDEF, led efforts to coordinate and combine contributions of humanitarian aid supplies from organizations including the SAF, MOH, and non-governmental organization Relief Singapore.

Vivian Balakrishnan, the minister of foreign affairs, described the most recent humanitarian aid offer as” an expression of Singaporeans ‘ care, concern, and sympathy for Palestinians in Gaza.”

The secretary thanked Jordan for facilitating the supply of help while the minister is in Amman over the weekend along with Senior Minister of State for Defence and Manpower Zaqy Mohamad. &nbsp,

” We are sincerely thankful to His Majesty King Abdullah II Al Hussein and the Jordanian state for facilitating our humanitarian aid to Gaza and for inviting Singapore to carry out humanitarian air cut procedures for urgently needed materials,” said Dr. Balakrishnan.

Ayman Safadi, Jordan’s deputy prime minister and foreign affairs minister, and Dr. Balakrishnan met with him on Saturday.

He continued,” They spoke about the dire situation in Gaza and how Singapore and Jordan you work together to provide support about two weeks ago.”

Mr. Zaqy expressed his hope that” this sign of sympathy, especially during the month of Ramadan, may bring pleasure as well as trust to the people of Gaza that are affected by the war.” He added that the SAF would continue to supply items. &nbsp,

” This entire government effort includes ground-up support from Singaporeans for those in Gaza,” he continued. &nbsp,
