Singapore sends condolences to Vietnam over Typhoon Yagi deaths

Mr. Wong wrote that he was “deeply saddened to hear about the horrible decline of life and disaster” that the tornado had caused in some parts of northern Vietnam in a letter addressed to Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

” On behalf of the Government of Singapore, I send my sincere condolences to the patients ‘ people and my sincere sympathies to all those whose lives have been impacted,” wrote Mr. Wong.

” As a fellow ASEAN Member State, Strategic Partner, and close friend of Vietnam, Singapore stands ready to support Vietnam during this challenging day”.

Dr. Balakrishnan addressed a letter to Bui Thanh Son, the deputy prime minister and foreign affairs minister of Vietnam.

He wrote,” I am very sorry to learn of the significant effect of Typhoon Yagi, which has caused the tragic loss of life and serious injury in northern Vietnam.

” I wish the victims ‘ families the speedy recovery of those who were hurt, and I extend my sincere condolences to their families. Please let me know if Singapore may assist in the reduction efforts.

Typhoon Yagi made land in&nbsp, Vietnam’s Hai Phong and Quang Ninh provinces on Sep 7 after hitting southern China and the Philippines, bringing breezes in excess of 149kmh.

The death toll rose to 179&nbsp, on Wednesday as the storms, the strongest one in 30 years, led to dangerous flooding and landslides. Asian state media likewise reported 145 people missing.
