SINGAPORE: On Tuesday ( Mar 25 ), the Lions drew 0-0 with Hong Kong to begin their 2027 Asian Cup qualification campaign.
Both groups came away with a close match at the National Stadium despite Singapore holding the lead for the majority of the game.
The Lions have never been considered for the Eastern Cup on merit, with Singapore making its even look as hosts in 1984.
In the second round of the Asian Cup finals, Singapore joins Hong Kong, India, and Bangladesh. Each of the six party leaders will be eligible for the Asian Cup in 2027.
India is the group’s top-ranked nation, and they are ranked 126th overall. They are followed by Hong Kong ( 155 ), Singapore ( 160 ) and Bangladesh ( 185 ).
Both groups entered Tuesday’s contest with opposing wealth.
In a home pleasant last Friday night, the Lions lost 1-0 to Nepal, while Hong Kong was on a seven-game winning work.
The Lions next faced them in a polite two years ago, and the two teams ended up playing 1-1 each.
With less than two hours left, Singapore had the game in the back of the internet from a part, but the goal was denied.
The Lions continued to have good hands but struggled to move much farther in the last second. Despite the urging of a vociferous bag of apart fans, the customers also appeared oddly subdued.  ,
