Singapore goalkeeper Hassan Sunny announces retirement from international football

Hassan Sunny, a former goalkeeper for the Lions, has retired from the international scene after a 20-year career that saw him win 115 cap. &nbsp,

Hassan stated in a social media post on Sunday ( Aug 18 ) that it is time for him to make way for younger players to stake their claim to the No 1 spot.

He said,” I have cherished every moment of my footballing career with the national team,” calling it a” roller coaster ride with many ups and downs. &nbsp,

” It was always an dignity to signify my land, and I will miss the group bus rides, overseas trips, packed venues, and so much more”.

The keeper made the news lately, after he became a star with China sports fans&nbsp, for a great achievement in Singapore’s 3-1 lost to Thailand during a World Cup qualifier. &nbsp,

He saved 11 saves, denying Thailand the chance to leap China into minute place in the group, who needed to win by three goals.

As a result, &nbsp, China joined party leaders South Korea&nbsp, in the last round of Eastern finals for the World Cup.

Hassan, who made his professional soccer album in 2004, stated in June that there are” still a few more years to go.”

” I have always regarded myself as the best, but I always fought my way off, giving 100 per cent in workshops and complements”, Hassan said on Sunday.

” At this point, the time has come for me to step off and let the more experienced athletes take over.” I will always be rooting for the group and the mistake office, and I will always give them my full assistance.

” I wish the Singapore National Team the best of luck in their future endeavors and the best of luck in the future games.”
