Singapore GE2025: PAP and Oppositions make pitches in first political broadcasts

Singapore’s Prime Minister Lawrence Wong personally appealed to Singaporeans to choose the best staff capable of guiding the society through a time of uncertainty. He urged them to vote for applicants who will prioritize the country and its citizens above all else.

Find leaders who are straight, honest, and of great character above all else. Because character is ultimately what matters, more than policies or promises, the People’s Action Party ( PAP ) secretary-general said during the party’s first political broadcast ( PPB) for the general election ( GE2025 ) on Friday.

Wong asserted that Wong’s top priority will be to work with his group to join Singaporeans, safeguard their lives, and secure their prospect if the PAP is given the mandate.

The Infocomm Media Development Authority ( IMDA ) has granted political parties with at least six candidates for GE2025 their first of two PPBs.

Eight out of the 11 political parties in the primary election are available for PPBs, which give parties free access to free-to-air television and radio airtime to deliver their campaign messages.

The number of individuals each group field determines the length of the subscribers.

Pritam Singh, the party’s secretary-general, emphasized the group’s role in Parliament and praised its commitment to posing difficult but important questions in the public interest.

” Workers ‘ Party Members of Parliament ( MPs ) can ask any question, especially the challenging ones that are necessary in the public interest.

We don’t need to heel the PAP’s range when we vote in Parliament. We oppose measures that we think are in the national interest, but when it is appropriate to do so, we back federal bills and actually constitutional amendments, he said.

The WP is fielding 26 individuals across eight districts, with Singh leading the charge in defending the five-seat Aljunied party  , picture constituency , a party stronghold.

Dr. Dr. Tan Cheng Bock, the group’s chair, referred to the group’s manifesto, which contains more than 60 plan proposals addressing issues like housing, healthcare, employment, and wages.

He stated that the group believes that all citizens, not just the wealthy, should be benefited by Singapore’s social and economic development.

If we are elected, he said,” We will actively raise your concerns in Parliament.”

Dr. Tan will face off in the West Coast-Jurong West GRC, where the PSP is fielding 13 individuals in six districts.

Lim Tean, the party’s secretary-general, promised that if elected, the party may support completely learning, school foods, and care for every Singaporean kid.
