Singapore Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan to make working visit to Indonesia

SINGAPORE: Minister for Foreign Affairs Vivian Balakrishnan may be making a running attend to Jakarta from Apr 23 to Apr 26, said  Singapore’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs ( MFA ) on Monday ( Apr 22 ).

Dr Balakrishnan’s attend “underscores the close friendship and cooperation between Singapore and Indonesia over the years, and reflects the shared wish to further improve co-operation”, added the government.  

He may be met by his counterpart and will be greeted by Indonesian President Joko Widodo. Retno Marsudi.

Dr Balakrishnan may even meet Indonesian President-elect  and Minister of Defence Prabowo Subianto.

Mr Prabowo won the Feb 14 election  with roughly 60 per cent of vote, according to the country’s election body’s standard score. In October, he is anticipated to assume the presidency.

Additionally, Dr. Balakrishnan may meet with other Indonesian leaders, such as; Coordinating Ministers for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno, and Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono.

He may also contact on past Indonesian presidents  Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and  Megawati Soekarnoputri.

During his attend, Dr. Balakrishnan may be accompanied by MFA leaders.
