Mr Wong urged Singaporeans to bring the” Team Singapore nature” into 2025, recalling the Forward Singapore training.  ,
Through the practice, Singapore may amend its laws, update attitudes and mindsets, as well as restore the Singapore Dream, he said, adding that he will set out the next steps of the training at Budget 2025.  ,
” We will create a fairer and more inclusive world, where everyone is assured of opportunities to succeed, regardless of their starting points in life, where every one of us can understand our dreams, and sit with dignity, safety and hope for a brighter future”, he said.  ,
Mr Wong noted that 2025 marks the 60th anniversary of Singapore’s freedom, and he said that the step is a time for reflection on the government’s shared values.
” Our voyage back will not be short of problems. But we have never allowed ourselves to be henpecked or overwhelmed”, he said, noting that younger Singapore showed endurance and fighting nature during the COVID-19 crisis.  ,
2024 was an exciting and turbulent time, with rising political tensions, he added. While international inflation has moderated, cost rates have not fallen, and cost-of-living pressures continue to weigh on families and communities.  ,
People experience a great deal of stress and anxiety about the potential. There is a growing malaise”, he said, adding that societies have become extremely divided.  ,
While Singapore is not immune to these global forces, it has distinguished itself as” a beacon of safety, security and stability” in a troubled world, said Mr Wong.
