Singapore condemns New Orleans truck attack, urges citizens to stay vigilant in the US

SINGAPORE: Singapore has condemned the New Orleans vehicle assault on Jan 1, calling the event, a stark reminder of the threat of terrorism. &nbsp,

US Army veteran&nbsp, Shamsud-Din Jabbar flew a dark Islamic State symbol on a truck&nbsp, that he rammed into New Year’s revellers in New Orleans, killing at least 15 individuals.

We express our deepest sympathies to the victims ‘ families and loved ones, and we wish them quick recovery. This invasion serves as a stark warning of the danger that terrorism continues to face all nations.

MFA added that there are no reports of Singaporeans being harmed by the invasion and that the Singapore Embassy in Washington, D.C. is in contact with regional government.

Jabbar crashed his car, opened hearth, and died in a shootout with police, who claimed he had driven with the intention of attempting to kill as many people as possible.

The US resident had pledged allegiance to Islamic State and acted alone in the attack, said the FBI, while outgoing&nbsp, US President Joe Biden condemned what he called a “despicable” work. &nbsp,
