Singapore completes first humanitarian aid airdrop into Gaza

Dr. Balakrishnan met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Isaac Herzog, among various officials, while he was in Israel on Tuesday and Wednesday as part of an a&nbsp, 10-day working excursion to the Middle East.

Dr. Balakrishnan informed Israel’s officials that its actions in Gaza have “gone very much.” &nbsp, He also&nbsp, called for an immediate ceasefire for aid to flow into Gaza swiftly, expressing Singapore ‘s&nbsp, deep concern with the severe humanitarian situation, MFA said in a statement.

During their discussions, he&nbsp, expressed Singapore’s affections to all the people affected by the Hamas assault on Oct 7, 2023.

While he pointed out that what happened on that day was a” clear, obvious, terrible work of terror”, he also spoke about the Jewish military actions that followed. &nbsp,

In a doorstop meeting in Israel on Wednesday, Dr Balakrishnan said:” But where we have a change with Israel, specially, and that is why the debate now have been, I would say, truthful, frank, maybe even terrible, if need be – where we have a change is, we believe that the Israeli military reaction has now gone too far.

” I have communicated that both to the prime minister, to the international secretary, and to the other Israelis whom we have met.”

Dr. Balakrishnan departs from Israel on Wednesday for the United Arab Emirates. As part of his journey to the Middle East, he may also travel to Egypt and Saudi Arabia.

He is accompanied by a group that includes Workers ‘ Party MP Gerald Giam, Ms. Alex Yam, Ms. Nadia Ahmad Samdin, Ms. Rachel Ong, and Mr. Zhulkarnain Abdul Rahim.

During his attend to Ramallah on Monday, Dr Balakrishnan&nbsp, updated Palestinian leaders&nbsp, on Singapore’s humanitarian aid to Gaza.
