Tan will receive the highest sum of S$ 100,000 ( US$ 75,000 ) from the Singapore Badminton Association’s ( SBA ) post-career gratuity program.
The program, which was established in 2023, aims to provide players with economic security after retirement. Depending on the player’s highest international rank and the amount of time they have represented Singapore, the payout ranges from S$ 16 000 to S$$ 100,000.  ,
Tan wants to study sports management at the bachelor level in the UK. She withdrew from Nanyang Technological University’s academic program in sporting science and management in 2011 to concentrate solely on competing.
Since then, she has applied for the Undergraduate Scholarship for Sports Excellence ( spexEducation ), a program that was announced in August of this year to support national athletes in their academic endeavors.
The award has two songs: a “dual trail” for current athletes and a “new job” trail for withdrew athletes.  ,
She will function with SBA in program organizing, business growth, and communications once she retires and before beginning her studies. She may even play for Paulus Firman, the head coach of double.
