Singapore Aquatics to launch Hall of Fame in 2024

Singapore Aquatics announced on Sunday, October 15, that a Hall of Fame would be established the following year to recognize the men and women who contributed to making aquatics Singapore’s major activity.

The 85th anniversary celebrations for Singapore Aquatics will include the opening of the Hall of Fame, the first for a national gymnastics relationship.

Aquatics players have consistently competed at big competitions like the SEA Games, Asian Games and World Championships, according to the organization, which is the only sport to bring Singapore an Olympic gold medal.

” It will add the club’s highest prize upon a select party of athletes starting next year to honor the achievements of its illustrious alumni.”

The Hall of Fame will go beyond merely honoring the contributions of recruits, according to swim star Patricia Chan, who chairs Singapore Aquatics’ Legacy Council.

” It is not just to honor our athletic heroes. She said during an event on Sunday at the Toa Payoh Swimming Complex,” But more important, it is a way for us to show our reports to the future years.”

For instance, we want people to be aware that diver Joseph Schooling, who won Singapore’s first Olympic gold medal, may be comfortable to you. But did you also understand that Ang Peng Siong, where he was the fastest male over 50 meters, was a world-beater for Singapore?

Even as we begin the next chapter of our watery story,” The Hall of Fame may serve to honor people who have gone previously.”

Mark Chay, the president of Singapore Aquatics, stated that programs like the Hall of Fame may aid in the association’s efforts to create a cohesive group of underwater athletes from all generations and backgrounds.

As the temperature rises to 85, this is an essential step for Singapore Aquatics, he said.

Swimming athletes who took part in both individual and team occasions, as well as those who have made a significant contribution to the game by serving as athletics administrators, coaches, and media representatives, are available for induction into the Hall of Fame.

According to Singapore Aquatics,” Honorees will have to be Singaporeans or Singapore continuous people.” Next time, more information about the selection and eligibility procedures may be made public.

The relationship added that a nomination panel has already been established to choose the annual batch of inductees.
