Singapore Airlines ( SIA ) reported its highest annual profit since 2000 on May 15 as a result of record passenger revenue and load factors and strong demand for air travel.
Gross profit improved due to better running performance, coupled with lower costs related to taxes, Singapore’s symbol carrier said in its declaration.
The airline companies service claimed that because of higher online energy costs, its expenditures also increased in the second half of the time.
SIA posted net profit of S$ 2.68 billion ( US$ 1.99 billion ) for the year ended Mar 31, compared with S$ 2.16 billion a year ago.
The company also proposed a final payout of S$ 0.38 per communicate, away from S$ 0.28 declared last year.
