Singapore actor Laurence Pang loses S$35,000 to online love scam in the Philippines

Pang said that Mika convinced him to join the business opportunity by telling him that she was processing her own purchases and making good money. She likewise showed Pang a record of her income.

Mika instructed Pang to transfer the money into her bank accounts, which she would use to record and set up his e-commerce and bitcoin accounts.  

He said that the program gives vendors an online store along with the products to sell, which he needed to fund second. When a customer buys an object from the business and the price is confirmed, he will get a 10 per cent fee and a payment of his money.  

Pang, yet, said that he was unable to remove his money as long as there was an excellent order that he had never fulfilled. But purchases racked up immediately, leaving him able to take his money out of the profile. Pang immediately became cautious of this.  

“ I believe that these clients that were coming in were all false, generated by this company to stop me from withdrawing my wealth, ” he said.  

After realising this on the second or third time, Pang said that he removed all the products from the business, so that no new purchases may be made.  

However, there were still fresh acquisitions coming in.  

He said that he believes that the site administrators gained power of his accounts and reloaded the merchandise he had recently removed. With that, Pang was stuck and unable to get the money he had invested into the company, which was   “over$ 27,000 in cryptocurrency”.  

“We contact that con a relationship or love fraud,” said the Public Information Officer of Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group ( PNPACG), Wallen Mae Arancillo, who was on the telephone with Tulfo during the season. ” The normal way of the modus operandi is that these cybercriminals get the love of their patients, who afterwards encourage their patients to invest in bitcoin. ”  

Tulfo also said that Mika may be part of a bigger deceiving activity.

“The PNPACG is really doing our best with regards to computer monitoring and virtual studies so that we will be able to trace these folks behind these scam centers, ” said Arancillo.  

Tulfo’s staff and the Spanish officers are then assisting Pang in the research.
