Siloso Beach reopens for swimming, sea activities after oil spill clean-up

The National Environment Agency ( NEA ) has been closely monitoring the beach’s water quality to prepare Siloso Beach for its reopening, according to SDC.

The liquid value has returned to normal degrees, it added.

In the run-up to the reopening, SDC and the Public Hygiene Council held charity clean-up lessons, a press release read.

Close to 450 participants came together&nbsp, across six sessions to recover Sentosa’s coastlines, noted SDC.

The respondents were from Sentosa’s Sentosa Islander commitment program, NEA, the Singapore Environment Council, the Singapore Canoe Federation, the Singapore Paddle Club, Sport Singapore, the Public Hygiene Council, the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore, the Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment and the Ministry of Trade and Industry.

The clean-up lessons took place in Sentosa Cove with SDC employees and people.

” Siloso Beach’s reopening reflects the success of our clean-up work, led by federal authorities, supported by people, professionals, architects and participants”, said&nbsp, Minister for Sustainability and the Environment Grace Fu.

She continued,” We sincerely thank everyone for their patience and hard work, which have helped restore the beauty of our shores and allowed seaside businesses to continue operating.”

According to Ms. Thien Kwee Eng, SDC’s chief executive officer,” This accelerated progress is due to the diligent efforts of our specialized staff and dedicated individuals.”
