The justice secretary, who denied the former prime minister was in excellent health, claimed that Paroled Thaksin Shinawatra was using blue dumbbells for medically-advanced natural treatment in a photograph showing him in a lake with his children.
Justice Minister Tawee Sodsong responded to questions that were posed in public that Thaksin was actually ill and deserving of probation on Tuesday.
Questions resurfaced after Pheu Thai Party leader Paetongtarn Shinawatra’s child Paetongtarn’s daughter posted a picture of him using dumbbells in a lake with his children at his home on Monday.
Mr. Tawee claimed to have spoken with two physicians who treated Thaksin at the Police General Hospital and the Medical Correctional Institute about the matter. He was told that Thaksin was using blue dumbbells for treatment.
The foam barbell are mild and are used for water treatment. They are very safe for those who want to enhance their elbow and shoulder muscles. Foam barbell are different from regular barbells”, the justice minister said.
Deputy Prime Minister Phumtham Wechayachai,  , of the Pheu Thai Party, said Thaksin usually spent” good day” with his children and at the same time exercised in the ocean. Critics may never interpret it, he said.
The image of Thaksin exercising, according to Move Forward Party MP Rangsiman Rome, raises the question,” Is he tired enough to be on parole?”
The National Anti-Corruption Commission and other important authorities should investigate whether the handling of Thaksin’s circumstance was rife with any irregularities. He claimed that the situation may have an impact on confidence in the justice program.
” Equality is a crucial component in preserving trust in the justice system,” said Mr. Rangsiman.
Thaksin, 75, returned to the state on Aug 22 next year. That same day he was taken to the Supreme Court, which sentenced him to , eight years , in jail in three situations.
He was therefore transported to Bangkok Remand Prison, but later that night or the day corrections officers moved him to Police General Hospital, where they claimed he needed care for a number of serious conditions, including neck pain, hypertension, and lower body air, with more advanced equipment.
His jail term was later voided by the royal clemency to one year. Then, while corrections and medical officials insisted that Thaksin remained in poor health, critics repeatedly asked why he was n’t released from prison.  ,
In February Thaksin was paroled , and discharged from Police General Hospital. He had been there for six months.
He was considered to have served at least six months of his jail term, despite the fact that he was currently being treated at Police General Hospital, and meets the requirements for parole because he is over 70 years old, was seriously ill, and was considered to have spent at least six months there.
