SIA and Scoot first airlines to get Neste's Singapore-made sustainable fuel at Changi Airport

Singapore Airlines ( SIA ) Group and refiner Neste have reached an agreement to purchase 1, 000 tonnes of neat Neste MY Sustainable Aviation Fuel for SIA and Scoot. &nbsp,

According to SIA, Scoot, and Neste in a joint media release on Monday ( May 6), this will allow the two airlines to receive sustainable aviation fuel ( SAF ) from Neste in Singapore.

According to them, Nestle will combine the SAF and regular jet fuel in accordance with the safety standards and offer the blended jet fuel to Changi Airport’s fuel hydrant system in two batches, after each in 2024 and again each in the fourth quarter of this year.

This second strong supply of Neste’s SAF to airlines at Changi Airport may even promote the refinery’s end- to- end SAF supply chain capabilities in Singapore, they added.

Neste expanded its factory in Singapore in May of last year, expanding its annual Army production to 1 million tonnes. &nbsp, This makes it the nation’s largest Army manufacturing facility, SIA, Scoot and Neste said.

SAF is plane energy made from organic or spend- derived material known as feedstock, rather of petroleum.

Neste’s SAF is made completely from green waste and waste raw materials, and you reduce&nbsp, greenhouse gas emissions by up to 80 per share over its life period when used in its unblended form, SIA, Scoot and Neste said.

” Blended with conventional jet fuel, it seamlessly integrates with existing aircraft engines and fuelling infrastructure”, they added.
