Shanghai extends weekly COVID-19 testing requirement until end of September

SHENZHEN, China: China’s most populous town Shanghai has prolonged its weekly COVID-19 test requirement plus extended free tests until the end associated with September in a bid to keep the virus under control, authorities announced upon Saturday (Aug 13).

Residents without a record of a nucleic acid check from within seven days is going to be assigned a yellow code on Shanghai’s health code program, the official notice stated. A yellow code restricts access to a few public venues.

On Saturday wellness authorities in the economic hub of twenty five million said these people detected one systematic and three asymptomatic cases a day previously.

The southern province of Hainan is currently China’s most severe hit region, with 594 symptomatic situations and 832 asymptomatic cases reported upon Saturday for 24 hours earlier.

Tight limitations and lockdowns within the popular tourist destination are expected to final over the weekend.

Upon Saturday China’s National Health Commission reported a total of two, 144 new COVID-19 infections on Aug. 12, of which 704 were symptomatic plus 1, 440 had been asymptomatic.
