SFA warns against 7 drink products found to contain medicinal substances

The Singapore Food Agency ( SFA ) advised consumers on Thursday ( Nov. 14 ) to avoid purchasing or consuming seven beverage products that have been discovered to contain prohibited medical substances.

The seven materials are:

  • Berryshine Pure Enzyme Fiber with Supplements
  • Six taste of BUM Energy Drinks comprising&nbsp, Blue Snow Cone, Champion Mentality, Peach Mango, Cherry Frost, Citrus Burst and Orange Sunrise

SFA stated that it has worked with the programs to reduce their listings and that the impacted products were sold on&nbsp and a number of local e-commerce systems. &nbsp,

Buyers have also been given a warning to stop selling the goods right away, the agency continued.

Marketed as a fabric protein drink, the Berryshine goods made various claims, including helping to enhance digestion, providing antioxidant security, enabling slim effects and flushing out toxins.

It was, nevertheless, found to contain sennosides- a therapeutic element that is used to relieve constipation.

Sennosides have a number of side effects, including cramps, spasms, diarrhoea, and lower blood potassium levels, which can cause muscle cramps and weakness. &nbsp,

According to SFA, the Berryshine beverage was incorrectly marketed as a Singaporean solution and is produced in Malaysia. &nbsp,
