The Land Transport Authority announced on Friday ( Aug 16 ) that improvements will be carried out on seven bus interchanges across the island and that the island will receive new features that will improve accessibility and improve commuting experiences. &nbsp,

Work will begin from August, at the van exchanges in Ang Mo Kio, Bedok, Boon Lay, Clementi, Sengkang, Serangoon and Toa Payoh. By 2027, all the updates are anticipated to be in place.

The improvements may be related to those at the brand-new Tengah and Jurong Town Hall. Both were finished and opened last month.

Upgrades at the seven vehicle interchanges will include the development and delivery of equality facilities such as goal lane zones, further chairs, baby care and family washrooms, wheelchair-accessible toilets, commuter care rooms, sensory guide paths and Braille signs on handrails. &nbsp,

Additionally, employees amenities like the staff lounges and passenger service offices may be renovated, along with replacing and upgrading the air conditioning and lighting systems. &nbsp,
