Seven bodies found after family of 10 swept away in Malaysia river

A senior police official said on Tuesday( Jul 4 ) that ten members of a single family were drowned in Malaysia’s river surge, and seven bodies were discovered less than 25 kilometers from their swimming location.

In the Chukai city of Terengganu’s eastern state, full within a forest, the Jeram Mawar waterfall was the scene of the tragedy last Friday.

Nine of the subjects were related, and the other was a fiancé, according to local police chief Hanyan Ramlan.

They may have been swimming in the river on Friday when they were abruptly carried away by a liquid boom. According to Hanyan, it happened quite quickly and the water levels reached three meters.

The seven bodies were discovered about 24 kilometers from the injury site, and Hanyan estimated that the victims ranged in age from four to forty.
