Amnat Jedcharoenruk was promoted to counsel common by the Senate on Tuesday.

With seven vetoes, Mr. Amnat received 193 vote in his favor and one against.

The election of Mr. Amnat as the nation’s 18th attorney general was unanimously approved by the Public Prosecution Commission in March.

The Senate must approve the election.

Mr. Amnat’s appointment may be forwarded to His Majesty the King for a royal command fully assigning him to the position after receiving his approval.

Mr. Amnat earned his laws degree from Thammasat University and is licensed as a solicitor. Additionally, he holds a mentor in regulation from Chulalongkorn University.
