Second mooncake recall in a week after Malaysian snow skin yam product pulled due to E coli

SINGAPORE: The Singapore Food Agency ( SFA ) has ordered the recall of Baker’s Cottage’s snow skin signature yam mooncake&nbsp, due to the presence of E coli.

In a media release on Friday ( Sep 13 ), SFA said it detected E coli at levels&nbsp, “exceeding the maximum limits stipulated in Singapore’s Food Regulations” during a regulatory sampling of mooncakes. &nbsp,

E bacteria is a bacterium that is typically found in people’s and wildlife ‘ bowels, and it can be introduced when cross-contamination occurs during the manufacturing process. While most varieties of the bacteria are safe, some types may induce vomiting, stomach pain, cramps and temperature.

The pastries affected by this time expire on December 31, 2024.

Baker’s House has approximately 160 outlets across Malaysia. &nbsp, SFA has directed the buyer of the damaged cakes, Ewayz, to recall the items, and the recognize is continuing.

Customers who have purchased the cakes does not consume them, according to SFA, and can contact their place of purchase for inquiries.

The organization advised those who have eaten the pastries to seek medical attention because they are concerned about their health.

Following the discovery of high amounts of a pathogen linked to food poisoning, SFA also recalled all quantities of Four Seasons Durians ‘ little D24 durian mooncakes, &nbsp.
