Second cash handout ‘by end of February’

Small wait possible as government seeks to clear up some questions, says official

The second phase of the president’s 10, 000-baht money handbook is expected in February, government official Jirayu Houngsub assured on Saturday.

He claimed the cabinet received a proposal for older assistance, but there were some questions raised, and the review was postponed for a month.

Prior to the Chinese New Year, which falls on February 10, the government had previously stated that the funds may be distributed. That could run the risk of breaking the law, according to a previous election commissioner, because the event will coincide with the elections for the chiefs of statewide operational organizations.

Somchai Srisutthiyakorn alleged that the government manipulated the local elections ‘ outcome using the$ 40 billion budget.

By the end of February, Mr. Jirayu reaffirmed that the ten thousand bass one-time cash transaction may be made to 4 million older people.

Participants over the age of 60 who qualify may sign up for the program through the Tang Rat game. Their monthly earnings may not exceed 70, 000 ringgit and their banks deposits may not reach 500, 000 baht.

Even if some of the people in the most vulnerable groups are over 60, Deputy Finance Minister Julapun Amornvivat recently stated that those who received a 10, 000-baht flyer in the first step in soon September will not be available for the second phase.
