BEIJING: The agriculture ministry reported on Thursday ( Jun 13 ) that the sweltering temperatures and drought are having a negative effect on summer planting.
This year, temperatures are expected to reach record highs in some parts of China, which will prompt notifications and actions from regulators to lessen the impact on crops, water, and power supplies, while nations across Asia prepare themselves for another long summer.
In some regions of Hebei, Henan, and Shandong regions, conditions could reach 44 degrees Fahrenheit, breaking records for the month of June, according to Chinese state broadcaster CCTV.
The agriculture ministry claimed in a statement that great heat have accelerated soil moisture damage.
” The dryness may remain to develop”, it said, making” the process of drought tolerance and summer spreading arduous”.
The government announced that it has sent out some work groups to seven regions to provide advice on how to combat rainfall, including Shandong, where grains harvest is currently being harvested.
