To learn about the benefits and biological differences that exist between the recently discovered grow Jaeng Suranaree and other closely related plants, researchers from several research centers are working together to study it.

The Thai Synchrotron National Lab, a professor at the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation, recently disclosed that her test is working with another research institutes to analyze Maerea koratensis Srisanga &amp, Watthana, also known as Jaeng Suranaree in Thai.

They are also conducting genetic analysis to determine its health benefits and ability to accurately identify it.

The research centers and Suranaree University of Technology’s Plant Genetic Conservation Project Center are working together with the Thai Synchrotron National Lab to examine the flower. The research centers are funded by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn and are part of the research institute that is dedicated to studying the biology of Jaeng Suranaree and Jaeng Siam.

In Nakhon Ratchasima’s Sikhiu and Dan Khun Thot towns, a group from Suranaree University of Technology discovered Jaeng Suranaree in 2021. It cannot be found in any other state.

The term “koratensis” in its academic title comes from Nakhon Ratchasima’s following title, Korat. It was named Jaeng Suranaree to glory Thao Suranaree, a nicely- known historic number from Korat, and Suranaree University of Technology.

The research team compared the seeds of Jaeng Suranaree and those of Jaeng Siam, a plant that is similar to that found in Sikhiu using the synchrotron radiation ( SR ) infrared ( IR ) microspectroscopy.

It was found that Jaeng Suranaree’s grains contain higher large while Jaeng Siam’s grains contain higher protein and carbs.

The information will enable further research to uncover its advantages, which will make it more valuable by allowing its use for the development of plastic or health products.
