SINGAPORE: On Monday, October 16, a Singapore Civil Defence Force ( SCDF) officer was charged with & nbsp, severely hurting 19-year-old full-time national serviceman( NSF ) by leaving him alone to put out fire in his apartment.
Sergeant 1( SGT1 ) Edward H. Go of the NSF died from suffocation after his air cylinder was depleted. He was the first fire to pass away as a result of an SCDF function.
Muhammad Kamil Mohamed Yasin, a 38-year-old police officer, was given one count of causing serious harm by acting hastily and endangering someone’s life or personal security.
He is charged with leaving SGT1 Go alone while there was an ongoing flames and leaving the apartment at Block 91, Henderson Road.
On December 8, 2022, this allegedly took place between 11.44 am and 1.34 pm, and Muhammad Kamil is accused of failing to let anyone else know that he had left SGT1 Come alone in the apartment. This went against SCDF guidelines.
There was no proof that SGT1 Go’s death was caused by technology failure, according to police investigations.
Muhammad Kamil arrived at judge with a group of backers. Mr. Ashwin Ganapathy, his attorney, and Ms. A. Meenakshi, an IRB Law employee, claimed to have just received a briefing.

The trial claimed they did no currently own a punishment place.
The event was postponed until the following month’s pre-trial event.
Muhammad Kamil may become found guilty and given a sentence of up to four years in prison or both.
When the second officer arrived and assumed command and control of the incident, he reportedly failed to ensure the fire operation’s overall safety.
