A sizable amount of high-tech technology that police and customs officials in Chiang Rai have seized is thought to relate to a multinational call center scam gang.

According to Pol Lt. Gen. Jirabhop Bhuridej, the Central Investigation Bureau ( CIB ) chief, the gang is suspected of moving its headquarters from Myanmar to Laos.

He claimed that on the banks of the Mekong River in the Golden Triangle area, close to the Thai-Lao borders, customs officials in Chiang Saen discovered more than 10 paper and plastic bins hidden beneath a tree.

In the containers were 94 desktop computers and equipment, 347 cellular phones and 15 notebooks written in Chinese, among other things.

After examining data found on computers and telephones, police investigators were persuaded that they were being used by con artists to trick victims.

Additionally, the CIB main reported that the boxes contained 10 high-speed Starlink satellite internet devices and 4, 998 SIM accounts sent from the United Kingdom.

Additionally, authorities discovered evidence of several love and purchase scams through talk history, speech scripts, and fake social media profile pictures.
