A 36-year-old Russian has been detained on Koh Phangan after admitting smuggling , hashish from Bhutan by stuffing it into condoms he therefore swallowed, according to police.
Denis Bichuk was detained by tourists authorities on Monday night in tambon Koh Phangan after he parked a , motorcycles in front of a supermarket, according to Pol Lt Col Winit Boonchit, the 5th head of visitor police station.
He claimed that Mr. Bichuk was spotted talking quickly, sweating, and trying to conceal his pouch bag when questioned by officers.
A search turned up 415.72g of marijuana, 13.56g of magic mushrooms, and 9.42 grams of methamphetamine in four condoms.
Mr. Bichuk reportedly told the police that he had packed hashish in Bhutan before going through the customs search. After arriving on the beach area, he excreted the contraception and was selling the weed to other travelers. It cost a a sizable. with a favorable gain percentage, he reportedly claimed.
Mr. Bichuk claimed to have purchased the methamphetamine from a stranger on the island for 4,000 ringgit per gram.
He is facing an unlawful possession charge from the police.
Before making the arrest, Pol Lt Col Winit claimed that holiday authorities had been observing his behavior for a while.
