The seventh such tranche of humanitarian aid  arrived in Jordan on Wednesday ( Feb 12 ), leaving Singapore for the Palestinian enclave, on the seventh day of the seventh day of the Republic of Singapore Air Force ( RSAF ) plane carrying about nine tons of supplies bound for Gaza.
The RSAF A330 Multi-Role Tanker Transport, carrying a shipment of medical, food and hygiene supplies from the Ministry of Health ( MOH), Relief SG, Mercy Relief, and Caritas Humanitarian Aid and Relief Initiatives Singapore ( CHARIS), took off from Changi Air Base on Wednesday morning, said the Ministry of Defence ( MINDEF ) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs ( MFA ) in a joint statement.
Foreign Affairs Minister Vivian Balakrishnan, Senior Minister of State for Defense Zaqy Mohamad, Jordan’s adviser to Singapore Samer Anton Naber, and Singapore’s non-resident adviser to Jordan Shamsher Zaman also attended the ceremony.
Hawazi Daipi, the representative of Singapore to the Palestinian Authority, and other representatives of non-governmental organizations ( NGOs ) that participated, were also present.
” Singapore may be far away, but we do what we can to enable”, said Dr Balakrishnan.
This shows sympathy for the diverse people in Singapore world. We are appreciative of the little things we can do to improve the health and quality of life for our brothers and sisters in Palestine.
