RSAF F-16 jet crashes at Tengah Air Base; pilot receiving medical attention

SINGAPORE: A Republic of Singapore Air Force ( RSAF ) F- 16 jet crashed at Tengah Air Base shortly after taking off on&nbsp, Wednesday afternoon ( May 8 ).

The plane experienced” an issue” during take- off at about 12.35pm, said the Ministry of Defence ( MINDEF ).

The government continued,” The captain safely ejected and the plane crashed within Tengah Air Base.”

The pilot is able to move while being informed. He is receiving medical interest. No additional staff is hurt”.

MINDEF stated that investigations are ongoing, and that it will keep you informed of any new information.

Singapore has operated the F- 16 for more than 30 ages.

Up until the middle of 2030, the fleet’s capabilities were lately improved to make them more technically ready.

The F-16 has improved its ability to target targets with more accurate precision munitions, as well as the Active Electronically Scanned Array Radar, which enables it to monitor and engage various targets from further away.
