RSAF F-16 aircraft lands at Changi Airport following malfunction

SINGAPORE: A Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) aircraft made a landing at Changi Airport on Tuesday (Nov 14) afternoon after experiencing a malfunction.

According to a post on the RSAF’s Facebook page, the F-16 aircraft experienced the malfunction shortly after 12pm and had a deflated tyre upon landing.

No personnel were injured, it added.

“Arising from this incident, Runway 3 was temporarily closed,” the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) said in a news release. “The aircraft was towed away at about 1.20pm.”

The runway reopened at about 1.30pm, following checks.

No flight was diverted during the runway closure, although 74 flights “experienced some delays”.

“The delays were for an average of less than 30 minutes,” CAAS said.
