SINGAPORE: A 28-year-old man who kicked his wife’s face and body during an argument was jailed for eight weeks on Friday ( Dec 27 ).
Wei Zaotong admitted to involuntary harm to his family at their home.
On December 12 at night, the pair were arguing. In the middle of their reasoning, Wei’s woman knelt before him.
Wei repeatedly kicked her face and body before moving on. The girl slammed her head against a glass screen after falling backward.
The person’s cheeks were reopened after the rape and she started bleeding. Wei slowed down after seeing the heart. The person then called the police.
On December 15, she had her eyes, mouth, and head examined in the hospital, and she was found to have scars on her legs, a reduce on her knee, and a lower mouth ulcer.
Wei was recently found guilty in 2021 of causing harm to others in an intimate relationship, for which he served time in prison.
Wei’s previous conviction on numerous works of the same offenses was the subject of a request for nine to ten days in prison, according to deputy public prosecutor Xavier Tan’s Friday request.
He had therefore demonstrated reluctance and a clear desire to use violence against his wife, a defenseless victim who should be protected from assault in her family home , , Mr. Tan said.
In mitigation, Wei told the court that after his previous conviction, he had been” controlling ( his ) anger” for the past few years.
He claimed that his family and he got into a fight after learning that she had been dating other people for three years.
He claimed that his woman kneeled in front of him to demand that he not divorce her, but that he had acted hastily, leading to the crime.
The guy said that he “lost power” and found it difficult to control his emotions, but knew he had made a miscalculation with his behavior.
He said,” When there are issues, I should have resolved them peacefully and probably engaged a divorce lawyer” through a Mandarin interpreter.
” I am aware of my aggressive behavior, and I feel incredibly sorry for it.”
A Sangeetha, the city judge, reportedly asked Wei if he would consult with a jury attorney to determine the causes of his crimes and develop a strategy to lessen the chance of him reoffending.
She claimed that this was due to the family crime he committed.
Wei agreed to see the judge counsellor.
Up to three years in prison, a fine of up to S$ 5, 000, or both are possible for causing harm by voluntary. The sufferer may include received double the sentence because he had an intimate connection with Wei.
