By the end of 2026, the On Nut waste-to-energy energy plant is anticipated to get operational.

Jakkapan Phiewngam, lieutenant governor of Bangkok, yesterday inspected the page in Prawet city.

The On Nut Waste Disposal Centre, which is being constructed by New Sky Energy ( Thailand ) with a 4.89 billion baht investment, covers an area of 30 rai. Although it is an ambitious project, it will be able to convert a lot of the city’s normal waste into power.

He said work on the flower began on Feb 19 last year and may need about 1, 000 days to complete, with a Nov 14, 2026, target in mind.

When the plant opens, it will be able to lose up to 1, 000 kilograms of waste per day, or about 10 % of Bangkok’s daily full of 10, 000 kilograms.

The flower is anticipated to produce 35MW of energy each month.

Solid waste will be kept in protected areas for three to five days to lower the humidity by 35 % before being burned after being transported to On Nut.

The facility did operate fire spend managing technology at higher temperatures of about 1, 000C.

When bullshit is burned, it produces heating, which turns water into steam.

Steam is used to generate power, while the residual ash ( about 15–20 % of the original weight ) is collected for landfill or other uses, he said.

A system system will operate the flower immediately, along with air pollutants treatment equipment, to ensure that air discharges meet safety standards.

He added that the plant will also address the issue of limited waste space as well as the negative effects of unpleasant odours that are a problem at garbage disposal sites close to communities.

The initiative is 28 % finish, with concrete surfaces, waste pits, base labor, equipment setup, transmission lines and the energy system already in place, he said.

Additionally, he said, the BMA has instructed the contractor to strictly adhere to safety standards and to follow steps to stop the PM2.5 dust problem.
