SINGAPORE: Raymond Ng, the father of anti-vaccine party leader Iris Koh, has been charged with cheating 12 citizens in relation to Vendshare, a vending machine business.
On Friday ( Feb. 7 ), Ng, 51, was given a dozen counts of cheating in a district court. The amount of money involved across all the charges is more than S$ 60, 800 ( US$ 45, 000 ).
The claims span the interval from Aug 25, 2019 to Oct 28, 2020.
Ng is accused of deceiving the 12 citizens into paying Vendshare for coffee vending machines even though he was aware that this was a lie.
The highest sum reportedly obtained from a single person was S$ 13, 900.
Vendshare is a life company in the beer company, according to the Finance and Corporate Regulatory Authority’s business website.
Its registered target is Pines Industrial Building on Macpherson Road, which it was before known as Getting Vending and SG Satay.
Ng remains out on parole of S$ 15, 000. His case will be heard once more on March 7.
If found guilty of cheating, Ng could be jailed for up to 10 times and fined for each command.
Ng has been in the media for his role in a number of civil lawsuits, including one involving businessman Calvin Cheng who is accused of defamation.
With his family Koh, he has also filed suit against the National University of Singapore and Meta Platforms, which owns Instagram.
In a sheriff’s investigation into Ms. Geno Ong’s dying, he likewise appeared.
Before her suicide, Ms. Ong was the subject of numerous complaints brought against her by Ng. The coroner determined that she committed suicide in piece as a result of the escalating legal fees.
