PHUKET- Three rare species of oceanic dolphin, the dwarf killer whales, were found in a tidal forest in the island province of Thalang on Saturday morning.

The three marine mammals were spotted by members of the Ban Ao Kung mangrove forest conservation group in the waters among the community’s trees. The animals were kept in captivity until the sea rose before being released into the water.

According to a trustworthy source, the whales were pygmy killer whales ( Feresa attenuata ), which live in warm tropical and subtropical waters. Only in coastal areas with heavy, clear waters can you find them close to shore.
