YALA: Law enforcement arrested a paramilitary ranger who allegedly shot and stabbed three people following a quarrel at a popular pub in Muang district of this southern border province last night, resulting in two fatalities and one injury.
Police said the attack occurred at Nasa Breakthrough pub on Chalermchai Road in tambon Sateng at 12. 45am.
A 38-year-old girl and a 31-year-old guy succumbed to their wounds at a local medical center. The woman sustained the stab wound to her waist, while the guy was shot in the chest and higher left arm.
Another man, 41, was shot in the right shoulder yet remained conscious. Many vehicles at the nightspot were sprayed along with bullets.
Police arrested the particular ranger at Muang Mai market after he escaped in a car. He has been identified as Hadchaicharn Thumnum, a 25-year-old Phatthalung native.
During questioning, this individual told police which he had a dispute in the pub and afterwards returned with his assault rifle before firing multiple shots in the people.
