Local officials have been given three weeks to research how a personal firm in Phuket is able to possess a plot of land that is blocking access to Laem Nga Beach.
Deputy Phuket government Sattha Thongkham monday said that he has made an urgent plea to the rural roads business, Muang city business, and Phuket land office to investigate the issue regarding the alleged unlawful blocking of a public road in tambon Ratsada of Muang district.
The move came after around 500 individuals gathered in front of the gate of a private beachfront property on Thursday, demanding the landlord open exposure to the shore after it has been blocked for over a century.
Muang city company is working with Tambon Ratsada town to deal with the home owner to dismantle the gate and open access to the beach. Then the town department will have to improve the condition of the road and place lights, Mr Sattha said.
The design force of the street and property rights document will also be reviewed by all relevant agencies.
The development of all guidelines must be reported to the state within three times, added the lieutenant governor.
Tambon Ratsada president Nakarin Yosaengrat said he had discussed the removal of the border with the estate developer, who therefore requested 15 days for planning to create new fences to avoid trespassing.
The 1, 290- inch remote road was built by the now- former Accelerated Rural Development Department– a forerunner of the Rural Roads Department– in 1994 before it was transferred to Tambon Ratsada Municipality in 1997.
Only the first 800- inch bend of the path is now open to the public after the house developer erected fences covering a 64- rai plot of land. But the name activities were issued in 1982.
