Thin Muhamad Noor Matha, the speaker of the House, announced on Thursday that he had never received a petition calling for an investigation into Gen. Prawit Wongsuwon’s regular absence from legislative sessions.
He said when the complaint is received, it will be processed according to political processes.
He said that as it involves the moral do of MPs, it will be forwarded to the House committee on morality, which comprises himself, the opposition leader, members from all social events, and former Members.
Mr. Wan responded to inquiries regarding the complaint that Prompong Nopparit, a former spokesman for the Pheu Thai Party, claimed he was submitting to request a review of Gen. Prawit’s attendance information.
Mr. Prompong claimed that Gen. Prawit was hardly ever seen at House meetings, which raises the question of whether the PPRP leader, who is a list party MP, has fulfilled his legal and social obligations as an MP.
The ethics committee will examine the subject in accordance with the House rules to determine whether Gen Prawit had actually committed an honest offense.
When questioned about whether Gen Prawit had actually requested a leave of absence before taking a break, Mr. Wan replied that he had no idea because the House secretariat normally handles the situation directly.
MPs may lose their lawmaker status if they consistently fail to go House conferences without giving a justification, even though he does not need his consent before taking leave.
Some members of the session were unable to attend any meetings because of their illness, but they did make sure to show up for critical votes, he claimed.
” ]MPs ‘ ] reasons are taken into account when considering matters like this”, he said.
