After two events showed signs of joining his fresh governing coalition, Indonesia’s president-elect Jokowi Subianto is likely to receive a nearly supermajority support in congress. &nbsp,

The two parties, the National Democratic Party ( Nasdem ) and the National Awakening Party ( PKB), previously backed Mr Prabowo’s opponents, Anies Baswedan and his running mate Muhaimin Iskandar, for the February Presidential Election. &nbsp,

The General Election Commission (KPU) on Wednesday ( April 24 ) officially declared Mr. Prabowo and his running mate Gibran Rakabuming Raka the winners of the 2024 Presidential Election, and the chairmen of both parties, Mr. Surya Paloh of Nasdem and Mr. Muhaimin of PKB, on Friday ( April 24 ). &nbsp,

Following the Constitutional Court’s decision on Monday to dismiss the election dispute lawsuits filed by two different presidential candidates, Mr. Anies and Mr. Ganjar Pranowo, KPU’s official confirmation came after the official confirmation. &nbsp,

The Constitutional Court declared the prosecution’s claims of election fraud and meddling by President Joko Widodo, famously known as Jokowi, to honour Mr Prabowo and Mr Gibran, who is also Mr Jokowi ‘ brother, as baseless. &nbsp,

Mr. Paloh, who met the president-elect on Thursday evening in Jakarta, gave Mr. Nasdem’s request to join Mr. Prabowo’s governing coalition. Following the meeting, Mr. Paloh stated that his party do” support the new government under Mr. Prabowo Subianto.”

Mr. Paloh claimed that it is preferable to remain in the government’s station in order to create a more sophisticated Indonesia.

” The chance, the desire, the need, the soul to be with the authorities, I think it’s better. This is my decision. Nasdem’s selection”, he said as quoted by CNN Indonesia. &nbsp,

” Being in opposition can be at any time, but working to support the government requires a spirit of honesty and objectivity,” added Mr. Paloh. &nbsp,

Mr. Prabowo claimed that communication had previously been established between the delegates of his party, the Great Indonesia Movement Party ( Gerindra ), and Nasdem. &nbsp,

According to Mr. Prabowo,” we have contended that we will work together for the greatest attention of the Indonesian people.”
