KUALA LUMPUR: Blackouts had been reported in parts of Kuala Lumpur as well as the Klang Valley upon Wednesday (Jul 27) afternoon after a power disruption in some parts of Malaysia.
The issue affected the main terminal of Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA).
“We are sorry that KLIA main fatal building is currently going through power supply interruption, ” said the airport terminal in a travel advisory on social media.
KLIA added that its anatomist team is conntacting Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) to resolve the situation. Those who require assistance were advised in order to approach the airport ground team.
The country’s international electricity company messaged that an electricity supply disruption had happened in several areas. It did not specify which areas were impacted.
“Our technical team happens to be investigating the cause of the particular incident. Efforts are usually under way to recover the supply, ” said TNB.
AstroAwani news company also reported blackouts in other Klang Valley locations such as the KLCC, Publika and Ampang Point shopping malls. Bukit Jalil, Bangsar Southern and Hospital Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (HUKM) were also apparently affected.
Photos shared on social media marketing showed a power outage at the KLCC shopping mall, with no lights in the stores and escalators at a standstill.
