
According to 8world News, the passenger, identified just as Ms Chen, is in her 20s. She said she was about to arrive at Raffles Place MRT place when she saw heavy smoke in the vehicle. She did not immediately understand her strength banks had caught fire until another people looked at her and moved apart.
” All ran away from me, and I realised that my concern was mine”, she told the Mandarin news program.
” We had only arrived at the station, and when the coach doors opened, all ran out. I thought the safest thing to do was to put my bag in the clear wagon”.
To clean the dust, SMRT staff switched on the station’s fuel system, said Mr Lam, adding that services resumed after the disturbed train was moved to the depot for checks.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it was alerted to the affair at about 5.45pm, and that the fire was put up by SMRT team.  ,
” The coach was later moved to Changi Depot, where SCDF was activated to evaluate the cause of the fire”, it added.
” Initial findings indicate that the fireplace was likely caused by an electric source from the electricity bank”.
