Therefore, a number of MPs discussed the difficulties residents were having with getting polyclinic appointments and offered suggestions for how to make the procedure better. & nbsp,
MPs like Dr. Tan, Mr. Liang Eng Hwa( PAP-Bukit Panjang ), and Assoc Prof. Jamus Lim( WP-Sengkang ) reported that it was extremely difficult for locals to reserve polyclinic slots. & nbsp,
Pritam Singh, the leader of the opposition( WP-Aljunied ), enquired as to whether it was possible to increase the number of walk-in slots at polyclinics and requested a portion of those slots set aside. He also inquired about the number of grievances from people who were unable to make online meetings.
Dr. Janil responded by stating that he lacked the information Mr. Singh was looking for. & nbsp,
The” heart of the issue ,” Dr. Janil continued, was that while it was possible to increase the percentage of walk-in games, it would not boost overall capacity. & nbsp,
” I recognize that elderly may be frustrated with the virtual system. The availability of resources and the potential for services at the facility are much matched to those patients because some people can use the virtual system, according to the senior minister of state for wellbeing. & nbsp,
He emphasized once more the importance of striking a balance between walk-in casinos and online reservations. & nbsp,
The capacity of the care teams to provide the service they are accustomed to providing would be affected if we switched to a completely walk-in system. We need a balance because if we switched to an entirely online program, the concerns that members of this property have highlighted will only get worse.
The operational groups in charge of the facility are left to consider their power, the services they provide, and the demographics of their people, which can change over time.” The question then is, what is the best way to determine that balance ,” Dr. Janil said. & nbsp,
If online reservations may be directed toward telemedicine, Assoc Prof. Lim enquired. & nbsp,
Dr. Janil retorted that while the authorities were looking into the possibility, expert teams would determine whether patients needed in-person appointments or virtual consultations. & nbsp,
We do support the teams so that we can optimize the use of telemedicine and make sure to increase the capacity accessible at the polyclinics, Dr. Janil continued.” I think that’s something for a clinical judgment, rather than an policy position. & nbsp,
Dr. Tan suggested using a hotline residents could call in for bookings rather, using the example of two residents who were unable to secure an online reservation for their old mother for four consecutive days. Additionally, he suggested making CHAS GP clinic subsidies more close to polyclinics. & nbsp,
The ministry would continue to investigate” the role of things like hotlines and other ways to improve our processes so that the appointments and services available at the polyclinics are indeed more accessible and user-friendly ,” Dr. Janil retorted. & nbsp,
He continued by saying that the issue of subsidies at CHAS GP hospitals was being regularly examined. & nbsp,
Dr. Janil stated that” We will have to regularly evaluate the conditions as well as the amount of payment that we provide for the CHAS GP clinics and really take into account the connection with what happens in the clinics.” & nbsp,
