Police shut down illegal gold mine in Phichit

Thai investors and five Taiwanese citizens detained, along with mine tools and explosives seized.

A Asian male and five Thai people were detained by forest officers in PHICHIT on Friday at a prohibited gold miners site on Panompa Mountain in this northeastern province. &nbsp,

A Asian investment allegedly snuck into the webpage on the hills in Wang Sai Phun’s Wang Sai Phun district to search for gold, according to a problem.

The Asian suspect was identified as Duong, 38. The five Thais arrested were Phirabun, 58, Bunyom, 48, Ms Somporn, 45, Patthana, 37, and Sawat, 63. No names were released.

Additionally, police found 39 pieces of mine products, including numerous sacks of ammonium nitrate used to make explosives.

The Thai suspects acknowledged inviting the stranger to work in mining and supporting him in the project, according to Pol Maj Gen Watcharin Phusit, head of the police’s Natural Resource and Environmental Crime Suppression Division.

They were held in custody at the Wang Sai Phun train, with more arrests expected.
